Wave of Flowers

kasamatsu-shiro-hana-no-nami-wave-flowers-1956The Japanese Kasamatsu Shiro (1898-1991) created the woodprint Hana no nami (Wave of Flowers). Shiro was an artist in the Shin-Hanga tradition, a movement popular in early 20th-century Japan. They were interested in revitalizing the traditional ukiyo-e printmaking art from the Edo period.
